Caring For Others
Caring for Our World
THERE'S LOVE HERE!
|Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these
who are members of my family,
you did it to me.
At Christ Church Deer Park we follow Christ's injunction: We care for and about each other — in our parish, our local community, and our world — because it is our duty, but also our pleasure and privilege, to do so. Please be in touch with us if you are interested in any of our caring initiatives or if you feel called to join us in joyful service to the world. Contact us.
Deer Park Skills Institute, Uganda
This outreach project, initiated in 2013 by parishioner Jill Aitken, is situated in Uganda and will give parentless children marketable skills to help them provide a better life for themselves. Our parish has committed funds to support an orphanage — Mama Jane's Child Care Centre — to develop a skills-training institute. The institute will teach welding, carpentry & joinery, tailoring & weaving, and information technology — skills that are in demand in the Ugandan economy — and will help the young adults of the orphanage achieve a dignified, independent life. It will also generate revenue by admitting fee-paying students from outside the orphanage.

Primate's World Relief and Development Fund (PWRDF)
This is the Anglican Church of Canada's agency for sustainable development, relief, refugees, and global justice. It connects Anglicans in Canada to communities around the world by means of partnerships that advance development, respond to emergencies, assist refugees, and act for positive change. Many Christ Church Deer Park parishioners are regular contributors.
