DESCRIPTION:Advent and Christmas come around each year\, so the question often is: how do we engage in a new way with a two-thousand-year-old story that is so well-known? How do we imagine the Incarnation in the twenty-first century? Well\, W.H. Auden pondered these questions in his long poem For the Time Being\, an attempt to see Christmas as both a moment in the history of the Roman Empire and Judaism and as an ever-new and always contemporary event for those of faith.  Join us as we read together this poem over four evenings in Advent.
