Lenten Study: Living in Exile
March 2 at 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
An event every week that begins at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, repeating until March 23, 2021
For almost 50 years the people of Israel lived in exile in Babylon. Exile. That place which is not home. Their lives were changed forever. Books in the Old Testament tell us their story. Where have our lives intersected with theirs? We have been living with the Coronavirus for a year now and with that, have been living in various states of isolation. We have been in exile from our friends, families, all activities familiar to us.
Our Lenten study will explore how exile might reflect the way we have been living this past year. Through the scriptures and a series of guest speakers, we will apply this concept of exile as it might affect people of colour, indigenous people, those with mental health illnesses, refugees and those who do not have access to the Corona virus vaccine.
Dates: Tuesdays: February 23, March 2, March 9, March 16, March 23
