DESCRIPTION:On the first\, third\, fourth\, (and fifth\, when applicable) Saturdays of each month\, we serve a hot breakfast to about 60 guests from 8am-9:30am. Everyone is welcome\, no questions asked and no means testing required. Breakfast normally consists of eggs\, sausages or bacon\, toast\, and of course coffee\, prepared by parish and community volunteers. \n(On the second Saturday of each month\, the breakfast program is offered out of Calvin Presbyterian on 26 Delisle\, just a block south of CCDP.) \n

SUMMARY:CCDP Walking Group
DESCRIPTION:CELEBRATING CHRIST’S REIGN ON A SPIRITUAL WALK: The Rev. Dr. Stephen Drakeford and Brad Lennon will lead an 8 km urban hike on the day just before Advent begins\, Saturday\, November 30. Beginning from the church office doors at 10 a.m.\, our group will travel by streetcar to the St. Clair West subway station. Walking from there through the Cedarvale Ravine\, we will (at 2.5 km) pass by the Eglinton West station\, a drop-out point for those who might wish to return earlier than the rest of the walkers. We shall walk north from Eglinton to follow the Kay Gardner Beltline Trail. There will be another drop-out point 2.5 km later as we again cross Eglinton to head east back to Yonge Street\, then South through Mount Pleasant Cemetery to the church. We can lunch together at one of the restaurants in the Yonge/St. Clair neighbourhood\, but bring along on the walk something to drink. In keeping with our liturgical season\, we will walk at a leisurely pace to observe Christ’s Reign surrounding us. We will be journeying on mostly flat\, well-maintained trails with hard-packed surfaces.  Are are welcome! (Note: if the weather is bad\, we will postpone the walk.)

SUMMARY:Community Breakfast
DESCRIPTION:On the first\, third\, fourth\, (and fifth\, when applicable) Saturdays of each month\, we serve a hot breakfast to about 60 guests from 8am-9:30am. Everyone is welcome\, no questions asked and no means testing required. Breakfast normally consists of eggs\, sausages or bacon\, toast\, and of course coffee\, prepared by parish and community volunteers. \n(On the second Saturday of each month\, the breakfast program is offered out of Calvin Presbyterian on 26 Delisle\, just a block south of CCDP.) \n

DESCRIPTION:Please join us us for a special Church on Tap service as we celebrate our 10-year anniversary! \nWe’ll have worship (starting at 6:30pm in Elliott Hall)\, followed by a beer\, a pizza party\, and karaoke! \nAnd if you’re new and wonder what this Church on Tap stuff is all about\, here’s the run down: we are an LGBTQ+ friendly and affirming community who gather once a month for a creative worship service that includes Communion\, soulful music (by the amazing Deb Whalen-Blaize)\, a meaningful reflection on a Bible passage\, and prayers. The service is relaxed\, informal\, and runs about 1 hour. You don’t have to be a baptized Christian to participate; all are welcome as they are\, wherever they are on their spiritual journey. After the service we have a time of fellowship over beer and snacks (with this month being special with a pizza party!). \nInvite your friends or family and join us! \n

How do we imagine the Incarnation in the twenty-first century? Well\, W.H. Auden pondered these questions in his long poem For the Time Being\, an attempt to see Christmas as both a moment in the history of the Roman Empire and Judaism and as an ever-new and always contemporary event for those of faith.  Join us as we read together this poem over four evenings in Advent.
