SUMMARY:CCDP Walking Group
DESCRIPTION:CELEBRATING CHRIST’S REIGN ON A SPIRITUAL WALK: The Rev. Dr. Stephen Drakeford and Brad Lennon will lead an 8 km urban hike on the day just before Advent begins\, Saturday\, November 30. Beginning from the church office doors at 10 a.m.\, our group will travel by streetcar to the St. Clair West subway station. Walking from there through the Cedarvale Ravine\, we will (at 2.5 km) pass by the Eglinton West station\, a drop-out point for those who might wish to return earlier than the rest of the walkers. We shall walk north from Eglinton to follow the Kay Gardner Beltline Trail. There will be another drop-out point 2.5 km later as we again cross Eglinton to head east back to Yonge Street\, then South through Mount Pleasant Cemetery to the church. We can lunch together at one of the restaurants in the Yonge/St. Clair neighbourhood\, but bring along on the walk something to drink. In keeping with our liturgical season\, we will walk at a leisurely pace to observe Christ’s Reign surrounding us. We will be journeying on mostly flat\, well-maintained trails with hard-packed surfaces.  Are are welcome! (Note: if the weather is bad\, we will postpone the walk.)

DESCRIPTION:Hot off our nearly $7\,000 September Rummage on the Lawn & BBQ\, we are working towards our Christmas Fair\, which is on November 23rd from 10am-2pm! We’ll have lots of fun activities\, goodies for sale\, Christmas cheer\, and ways for you to help out: \n\nCoffee and Treats in Gabriel’s Café until 11:30am\, then lunch with Mary Kay Brown’s famous Lentil Soup on offer.\nThe Christmas Fair Wine Raffle and Risky Wine Box Game is collecting bottle donations beginning now. Please consider donating a wrapped bottle of something for our table or our cases. A bottle of wine\, liqueur\, spirits\, or olive oil\, or use your imagination (something in the $20-ish range please). And\, if you don’t have wrapping paper\, a newspaper will do – it’ll be such fun!\nWe are accepting items for our Regifting Station. Everyone has a few items that they were given sitting in a drawer\, waiting for the right time to give them away. Here is your chance!\nChristmas décor and ornaments: you may be surprised to note we sold just under $300 in this section last year. Please purge our way\, as you prepare for Advent.\nWe are also accepting costume jewellery from all eras as that’s always a big hit. We would love some of yours ….\n\nPlease note that although we will be begging you for your books\, clothing\, and housewares come spring\, we have no storage space for these items until our spring intake. So please don’t bring those items now. DESCRIPTION:On the first\, third\, fourth\, (and fifth\, when applicable) Saturdays of each month\, we serve a hot breakfast to about 60 guests from 8am-9:30am. Everyone is welcome\, no questions asked and no means testing required. Breakfast normally consists of eggs\, sausages or bacon\, toast\, and of course coffee\, prepared by parish and community volunteers. \n(On the second Saturday of each month\, the breakfast program is offered out of Calvin Presbyterian on 26 Delisle\, just a block south of CCDP.) \n
