Announcing our new Incumbent!

It is with great joy the Parish Selection Committee announces that The Reverend Canon Dr. Alison Falby will be our new Incumbent, beginning September 1, 2025.

Alison grew up in Toronto and is currently the incumbent at All Saints Church-Community Centre in Moss Park, where she has led a growing congregation and overseen a weekday drop-in centre for people experiencing homelessness and other challenges. She was previously the incumbent at St. Martin’s, Bay Ridges, in Pickering, and a curate at St. Nicholas, Birch Cliff and Havergal College in Toronto. She was ordained priest in 2012, and graduated with her M.Div. from Trinity College, Toronto, in 2011. Before following her call to the priesthood, Alison was an Assistant Professor of History. She holds a D.Phil. from Oxford and a B.A. from McGill University.

In her spare time, she enjoys reading, pottery, and stand-up comedy. She and her husband Mike are looking forward to joining the Christ Church community in September.

The Story behind our

Tracker Organ

Our magnificent three manual, tracker-action organ was installed in the chancel of the church in the spring of 1982 and dedicated to the Glory of God and in memory of those who died in the First World War and the Second World War.

The organ, built by the Karl Wilhelm Company of Mont St. Hilaire, Quebec, has a classical continental design. The case is made of white oak and the pipe shades are of carved butternut. Voiced in the classic French style, its 36 stops and 50 ranks are capable of interpreting a wide variety of organ literature.

Installation required considerable changes to the chancel including moving the altar forward and arranging choir seating to either side. These renovations prompted the design and production of our award-winning Benedicite Kneelers, done in needlepoint by a dedicated group of church members.
