Our Director of Music and Organist, Stefani Bedin, joined our team in January 2024. She is currently a Doctor of Musical Arts degree candidate at the University of Toronto, where she also completed the Master of Music degree in Organ Performance and the Bachelor of Music degree in Music History and Theory (Honours) with a minor in historical keyboard. At the Faculty of Music, Stefani is a teaching assistant in the theory department, having previously been a keyboard harmony course instructor and teaching assistant for music history and music appreciation courses. She also teaches piano, organ and theory privately. Stefani’s academic research examines the impact of the Second Vatican Council on organists and explores the significant role the organ can play in fostering congregations’ active participation in the liturgy. Committed to sharing the organ’s music with diverse audiences, Stefani has given several solo recitals and is the president of the Royal Canadian College of Organists’ Toronto Centre.
